L'automne en France
Friday 27 October Day 1 Adele finished work at 9.45am, we had already packed the van, filled up with fuel and water, gas was almost full so were off just after 10am, the trip down the motorway was fine a part from torrential rain, we stopped on the motorway for a bit to eat before continuing down to Folkestone, it had dried up now, we checked in, we were the only ones at the ticket booth, we got our pass for pet control and continued into the terminal, again there was no-one about, no-one in pet reception, no other motorhomes or campervans parked up, we were given a train an hour and a half early so proceeded to passport control, again no-one in front of us, no-one at the gas check or at French passport control, it was like the place was closed, we moved to the loading lanes. At last other vehicles, two other vans a two cars, its unbelievably quiet. We were soon driving onto the train and before we knew it we were off, 35 minutes later we were driving in France.
