Foy, Herefordshire July 2020 We Might Have Gone The Wrong Way Friday 10th July We got up  and made a spur of the moment decision, some what out of character for us, to go away this weekend, but where? and would it be safe under these new corvid safe times, Adele found a Camping & Caravaning Club CS site (certified site) at Foy, Herefordshire called Marthas' meadow, after a quick call to make sure they had space we were off, stopped to get fuel and some supplies we made good time down M5 & M50 to Foy at 2.30pm. Marthas' Meadow is a 'basic' site (no facilities) just water, CDP & EHU, we did need our leveling ramps as the pitches are slightly sloping, the site only takes 5 units so were very well spaced out, there was contact less  payment via a steel security box and plenty of hand sanitizer on site. The site is surrounded by countryside and looks over the river Wye and the Foy bridge, by 3.00pm we were sitting with a...

South Devon February 2020 My Birthday Treat Tuesday 18th February We left home at around 10.00am, after opening my cards and presents, we traveled down the M5, the weather was dull and grey with intermittent rain but the traffic was fairly quiet  we stopped for a spot of lunch at Exeter. After a short rest we continued on to Torquay, unfortunately the weather had not improved, we drove across the front at Torquay then out to Painton and further to Broadsand beach where we were able to get on the beach car park. We took Izzy out on the beach during a period of dry weather but were soon beaten back by the rain, over a cup of tea and the obligatory piece of cake we decided to track back to Painton to find a park up for the night. We were able to park right on the sea front along marine parade for £3.50 per night, it had started to dry up a little now so took Izzy out again up past the pier to the top end on the beach, returning for tea. After tea we wa...

Flanders France & Belgium  October 2019 We were like kids in a sweet shop After weeks of planning the day had come for our first trip to Europe in our benni, the plan was to meet up with our good friends, Norman & Jean at Clacketts Lane Services before travelling down to Dover together. Sunday 27th October Having packed the van last night there wasn't a great deal to do before we left, just topping up with fuel, we left Kidderminster at 9.38am and made good progress down the M42, M40 and M25, a few miles before the services we came across Norman and Jean in front of us on the motorway, we called into the Services at Clacketts Lane on M25 for lunch, we hadn't seen them for months so was a lovely reunion, we had lunch then continued our journey down to Dover. The sight of the white cliffs and the sea was great and we were getting really excited, being a Sunday, the ferry port was relatively quite and check in was straight forward, we were direct...
