2023 - How Many Nights Away ?
It's That time of year again where we all look back on the year that's gone.
This Year, 2023, we have had some really lovely weekends away, longer breaks and main holidays, each with its own highlight, we have trodden new grounds and old, we had our first ever trip to the Isle of Wight, with its history and oldie world feeling, we have driven the Mull Of Kintyre, part of our Scottish tour, we camped in Scottish forests star gazing in its dark skies.
We have been lucky enough to have two trips to France enjoying the Normandy region, we were blessed with lovely weather on our Easter trip but had the rain gods follow us in October but again we had splendid times on both trips.
This Year we had our first pub stops staying at The Pheasant at Neenton a couple of times and at The red Lion at Cradley in Herefordshire somewhere we want to return to one day.
We have been to old favourites of Foy and Llangollen, We have tried to made the most of our Camping and Caravanning Club membership by staying on many weekend meets and temporary holiday sites which has helped keep our price per night down and used the Caravan Club to get discounts on our ferry and Eurotunnel tickets.
The chart below gives an idea of our camping costs for 2023, we had less nights away than the previous year, not for any particular reason, I think life just got in the way sometimes, with 2024 around the corner we hope to get more nights away, spend precious time together and explore old and new grounds.
We have travelled at total of 5269 miles from our first trip in February, at an average of 33.4 MPG, Vera, our Benivan 120 has served us well with no major issues, we still get the fresh water alarm coming on when there is plenty of water in the tank but that's something we can look at.
Next February we will have had her five years, where has that time gone?
Here is to many more years of exploring, fun and making great memories.
N&A xx
