TW3 - That Was The Week That Was

What a week we have had, we had planned on going away on Wednesday to either an area around West Bay in Dorset or Cricketh in North Wakes, I had booked off Wednesday from work to give us extra time away, however, last weekend Charlottes cat, Leila has been really poorly so by Tuesday she was at the vets on antibiotics, pain killers and appetiser tablets, by Wednesday she was no better so back to the vets, she was kept in for x-rays and scans to find out what was wrong. So, to cut a long and boring story short and over £7oo later, Leila has improved, she is now eating again and back to her more normal self

Friday 24th February
Day1

We finally left home just before 1pm for the 25mile journey our towards Uptown on Severn at Earls Coombe, due to a vehicle fire on the M5 and the closing of the motorway it took almost 3 hours before we arrived at the CAMC cl at Emblem Villa, we were told to make our way onto the cl make ourselves at home and our hosts would meet up with us later, that they did, we had a chat for a while paid out £22.00 pn.
After topping up with water, connecting the EHU Adele took Izzy for a short walk around the CL .
A big sigh and open the gin, we sat as the sun went down, time to relax.

Tea tonight is Moroccan meatballs with eastern grains, tasty!
After tiding up we had some bread and cheese and set up for a game of Othello.

Saturday 25 February
Day 2

We woke 7.30am after a fairly good night, it had gone colder in the night but we had left the heating on low just ticking away in the background.
I took Izzy out for her morning walk, just around the camping field, we checked out all the facilities, they are quite poor, yes we have EHU and water but there is no recycling, one rubbish bin and the Elsan flush is broken.
The noise from the M5 motorway is really loud, you can see the traffic from the pitches which is a shame as the views out across the Worcestershire countyside are lovely.
We returned to find our breakfasts ready, after tidying up we had to find somewhere else to stay tonight as we didn't want to stay here due to the background traffic noise, that turned into a mammoth task, after phoning around 8-10 sites we gave up and booked online to a Camping & Caravanning club site at Blackmore, it cost only £4.80 more than the CL and has all facilities, just goes to show how expensive these 5 unit sites have become.
After all that decision making we now have to decide what to do today, that was more straight forward, we wanted to take a look at the village church in Earls Croome

St.Nicholas Church - Earls Croome.

then we are going to take the short drive to Upton upon Servern for a walk around the town.
Parking is easy, a large car / coach park just a very short walk from the town and cheap at £3.00 all day.

Ye Olde Anchor Inn - c1601

We had a lovely, if cold walk around the town, we walk along the river and popped in to the Swan inn for a glass of ale before  finishing our stroll with a bag of chips.

A glass of local ale

We then drove the mile or so towards Malvern and the Blackmore club site, we booked in and were shown our pitch, we plugged in and had a snoozle and wrote the diary. After a cup of tea we took Izzy for a walk around the site, all very neat and tidy which you would expect, the sites not full but is very busy which being the end of half term you would expect.
Its starting to get a little dark now so we started tea, pork belly slices, mange-toute and grains.
We then get the Othello game out
