We Are New At This
We Are New To This
Well here goes, we had thought about doing a blog about our travels in our van for sometime, nothing fancy, a sort of diary of where we go, what we see and do but never got around to starting, so with us currently in lock-down and having plenty of time on our hands we have no excuses.
So let's start at the beginning
Our first campervan was a T2 VW back in the late 70s, an old plumbers van that we self converted with all the usual fittings, rock n roll bed, cooker, sink, cool box etc and had many trips around the UK, normally to the coast to go surfing. Eventually, the bodywork started to go so we sold it on and bought a then new Bedford Midi van, again self converted with all the mod cons, this time, fitted a fridge ( got to keep the beer cold ) again we traveled all around the UK but with a newer van started going to the continent especially France.
By 2000 the midi was beginning to need major repairs and now with two kids couldn't afford another van so we invested in a small caravan which allowed us to continue our travels, we had some fantastic holidays both in the UK and in France, which bring us to the present.
In 2019 we were in the position to look for another campervan after much soul searching, research and looking at many, many vans decided on a Benimar Benivan 120 and in March 2019 we picked her up, we had lots of trips out, some for a weekend away, some for a fortnight touring trip and our first trip with her to the continent, i will elaborate more in later blogs.
2020 started well with a weeks trip to south Devon, the van had to go back for some warranty work then this awful covid-19 struck and we all went into lock-down. I hope to continue with our story when things get better to continue our Benivanadventures - our adventures in our campervan.
